Paper that holds a wet line, and the inks to test it.
Notebooks sewn to open flat, inks that shade instead of bleed, pencils cut from cedar. Small runs, shipped flat, replaced if the paper ever feathers.

What the paper is
Every notebook uses the same stock: a 100 gsm ivory sheet milled in a single run each spring. It is sized for fountain pens, so a broad nib puts down a wet line that dries sharp and shows the shading in the ink.
We print rulings in a pale grey that disappears behind writing. Dot grids are 5 mm, lines are 7 mm, and plain pages are plain.

Notes from the margins
I filled a navy ledger in four months of meeting notes. Not one page bled through, even with a stub nib.
Verdigris is the first green ink I have used that looks good on the page a week later.
The pocket notebooks live in my coat. The paper takes pencil well and the staples have held up.
Letters, about once a month
New inks, restocks and the occasional paper test. No sales countdowns.
